Left on Apr 21, 2012 for a stay in Apr 2012 A lovely welcome from the family and Javier started the holiday, with a really good quality welcome pack in the apartment. A few more details about what to see would be good, but Javier is keen to share his knowledge of the area. The apartment is a great size and is really well equipped. There is a totally private terrace and a small pool(a bit too chilly yet!). Only a few KM to excellent beaches. The village is beautiful with a wealth of restaurants and bars. So good we booked another holiday there in August, and will be returning as often as we can. Never done that before!

Left on May 22, 2012 for a stay in May 2012 2 people found this review helpful We have been going to Arcos de la Almona for over 7 years now, usually annually, sometimes twice a year, and we never, never tire of the place. The apartment itself is utterly delightful, very comfortable, spotlessly clean, is great for two, and has the most wonderful roof terrace with its own plunge pool, seating area, barbecue and with spectacular views over the surrounding sierras. We have come to know the owners, Javier and Rosario, very well, and they, along with their two children, are the most charming, helpful, friendly couple you could ever wish to meet. They live on the 2nd floor of this lovely three-floored traditional village property (Rosario's mother lives on the ground floor!), and the obvious advantage of that, of course, is that they are always on hand if you have any problems, or just want to ask a question. Anything you need, you only have to say - they will be only too delighted to do what they can to assist. Above all, they will do their utmost to ensure that you have the most pleasurable - and utterly memorable - stay. (And that, by the way, includes providing you with the best welcome pack you're ever likely to experience in any self-catering rental property!) But they are never intrusive – they're there when you need them, invisible when you don't. Frigiliana itself is a delightful village. It's a 'working' village, really, which means that the bars and restaurants are, for the most part, there to cater for the locals, rather than the tourists. Ergo, a little Spanish, although not absolutely essential, is appreciated, and goes a long way. You will find very reasonable prices in most establishments, and in one or two places prices are much lower than you'd find in the UK. Sure, there are one or two touristy spots, but by and large these tend to cater for the day-trippers who come up from Nerja for the day, and then go away again around late afternoon, allowing the village to return to its normal air of tranquillity, with the sound of local children having fun in the little streets and plazas the only thing you'll be likely to hear of an evening. But if you do fancy the “bright lights” of Nerja, there is a frequent local bus service between there and the village (last bus back to Frigiliana is 8.30pm, so any later and you'll need a taxi – but it's only a 5-10 minute drive so that's not an expensive option). There is, however, no service on a Sunday. If you decide to hire a car, Javier can organise that for you. As I write this, we are just about to depart for Frigiliana for our next visit, and cannot wait to get there! We hope you, too, manage to get there one day. You won't regret the decision to go, I promise you.

Javier & Rosario, the owners who live in the house below are very welcoming and helpful without being instrusive. The apartment itself is lovely and homely, it really feels like someone’s home, and the roof terrace is fantastic, very large with all the seating and sunbathing furniture you need and a wonderful decent sized plunge pool, all back dropped by the mountains, very beautiful... Frigliana itself is a beautiful village, very Spanish, and Nerja which is only a short bus journey away is also a great place to visit.

Jane D Unique little apartment idea for 2 people, lovely views from superb terrace. Left on May 29, 2012 for a stay in Nov 2010 We stayed in this lovely apartment for a long weekend (4 days). It was a perfect break in November, the sun shone every day. We had breakfast on the terrace overlooking the mountains. The accommodation is excellent and the location ideal for walking through the old town, didn't need a car. We enjoyed seeing our friends, the owners Rosario, Javier and their children as always We would love to stay at Los Arcos again and would recommend it to our friends & family. We have also stayed at Hazilla de Raya and El Torin which are also beautiful places to stay in.

We really like staying here and when this is added to the unobtrusive friendliness and service from the owners, choosing this property is what is known as a no-brainer. The only possible downside to Arcos is that it is located on a hill, in fact the whole of Frigiliana is, so if you have problems walking up hills then this particular property may not be for you. But there is always the car :o)

Everything was as usual spotless when we arrived with a lovely warm welcome from Javier and Rosario. Staying for 2 weeks you really begin to live with the pace of this beautifull village and each morning you wake up with the sounds of the village and animals in the hills. Frigiliana looked even cleaner this year with a lot of effort put in by everyone in the village. The feast of Saint Anthony was celebrated on our first week and it was lovely to watch the procession from the church down to the river bed. We will be coming back next year once again to Arcos de la Almona and we would highly recommend this property alongside any of Javier and Rosarios other properties in the area.

On the edge of this stunning village 'Arcos De La Almona' has every amenity you could possibly want. The plunge pool on the terrace was very welcome on the hot July days and the owners Javier and Rosario were there when you needed them but invisible when you didn't. It is in an ideal location, and the roof terrace with plunge pool is terrific offering great views over the town and to the mountains beyond. Furnishings are perfectly adequate and the property was spotless when we arrived. The owner Javier and his wife are very friendly and nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them - they genuinely want their guests to enjoy their stay - we certainly did.

The apartment has everything necessary for a relaxed, laid back vacation. The terrace with a small plunge pool is a wonderful surprise, a perfect place to spend those long hot summer evenings with a glass of wine, gazing over the rooftops of the village down the valley to the sea. There are a number of great walks in the area and the old village is a joy to explore and there are a number of good restaurants within easy walking distance.

The house and terrace are gorgeous with a very welcome pool. Everywhere was spotlessly clean as well as comfortable. We hired a car but were so relaxed and at home in the house we only used it twice. Frigiliana is a beautiful village with loads of characture, small steep cobbled streets, white washed houses decked with colourful flowers and restaurants with terraces overlooking the village and hills. Stunning! Would definitely re visit Frigiliana and stay at Arcos de la Almona again.

Left on Mar 26, 2013 for a stay in Mar 2013 My wife and i have just returned from a week at Arcos de la Almona. We had a great time , in no small measure due to the beautiful accommodation and the friendliness of the owners Javier and Rosario. It is ideal for two people with plenty of internal space, and the most fantastic balcony that overlooks the whole of the town and across towards Nerja and the sea in the distance. Javier and Rosario provided a good welcome pack, certainly enough to take you through your first day or so. Ditto to all the other reviewers comments. We did have a bit of rain on a couple of the days and although we are not normally too bothered about having a TV, we found it very welcome to have all the UK satellite TV channels . There are lots of good restaurants and a couple of bars, but this is a quite town, especially early season, and is probably not the place to be if you are a party animal (It may have been a bit quite for our two children in their early 20s) . The town is beautifully maintained and we never tired of ambling around the cobbled streets. Please be warned that there are some steep climbs and this is not a place to come if you are not fully mobile. Some good walks that for all levels that start in the town centre and a map can be bought for a couple of euros in the information office. We used trip advisor to identify places to eat and should perhaps have spoken to Javier when we first arrived as he was able to point towards some of his favourites.

dumper1 Wales the perfect holiday, thanks Xavier and Rosario Left on Jul 1, 2013 for a stay in Jun 2013 We arrived in the middle of the afternoon and we couldn't believe our luck that we were going to be spending a week in this beautiful appartment. The owners Xavier and Rosario were so welcoming and after giving us the keys wished us a great holiday. They left us to enjoy after that but it was very reassuring that they were always there if we needed them. The welcome pack was excellent and saved us from having to go shopping as soon as we arrived so we could unpack and soak in the ample plunge pool. The covered pagoda seating area was also great to get out of the sun if too hot. We loved Frigiliana last year and stayed up the hill in the campo which was also superb, however this holiday had a totally different vibe being in the village. We could nip out for a drink or shopping anytime but the village was so quiet we slept sound every night. Air condition was included but the appartment is so airy and light we never turned it on once despite temperatures in the low 30's. We are already going to book for next year once we can sort out work commitments. In the heat of the mid day sun and with the windows open there's no need to crank up the air con. The terrace is private with views of the surrounding hills draped in citrus groves and avocado trees. The splash pool is invitingly seductive and the scent of jasmine on an evening is intoxicating. Javier and Rosario, thank you. It definitely lives up to the great reviews on Trip Adviser and I would definitely return. Everything is very clean and comfortable and the roof top pool and terrace are the icing on the cake. We had to work a little while we were there and the wifi was therefore very useful! The owners were very helpful and friendly but not over the top so again perfect. Great restaurants in the near vicinity and a supermarket too. I would recommend hiring a car and seeing more of the area too. A big thank you to the owners for making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing.

It is set in the old town of Frigiliana, which is a beautiful white Spanish town in the hills above Nerja. The house was perfect for our stay. It consisted of an open-plan living area, encompassing the lounge, dining room and kitchen and then off this was a double bedroom and a shower room. Outside there was an enormous roof terrace, with a plunge pool and several different seating areas, where you could eat, sunbathe or sit comfortably reading a book. The views of the surrounding hills were so pretty and the terrace itself was full of colourful plants in pots, which made it very attractive. The house was well equipped with everything you could need if you wanted to cater fully for yourself at home but we mainly used it for breakfast and lunch and ate out at various restaurants in Frigiliana or Nerja in the evening. A welcome hamper is provided on arrival and has all the basics needed as well as some extras, such as a bottle of wine and some beers so this kept us going for a couple of days before we needed to go shopping. The owners were very helpful and you could call on them for assistance as they live next door. Having said that, the house is still very private and the terrace is not overlooked at all. We enjoyed our stay very much and this was helped by the lovely sunny April weather, which meant we could spend a lot of time soaking up the sun on the terrace. Very central for restaurants and nice walks. It is beautifully furnished, very clean and comfortable with all mod cons. The roof/garden terrace is very spacious with nice patio furniture and a small pool. The views are simply stunning and it catches the sun from morning till night. There is a very nice covered arbour area where you can always find shade if required, The owners Rosario & Javier are a lovely friendly couple who could not do enough to make our stay more comfortable. Accommodation very loved and cared for, amazing terrace. Good WiFi. Took lots of DVDs, only 2 English news channels. Can't go wrong. 1 minute to shop, even the 1.10 Euro rose was good, it did all drinks, bread, basic lunch food etc. Turn left out of house and 3 or 4 fab view restaurants. Tapas in the square was good. We loved the sangria and fried fish in cafe just at bottom of hill by little train stop. They provide a fantastic welcome pack and their home has everything you might need and is very clean and well presented. This house is situated in the heart of the village of Frigiliana and so the shops and restaurants are easily accessible. The views from the superb roof garden are stunning. Because of the location of the house, parking of a car is not possible outside the house, but the home owners arrange for the use of a parking space a few yards away. Des B An absolute gem Left on May 10, 2015 for a stay in Apr 2015 Javier and Rosario are the perfect hosts. They provide excellent accommodation, are immediately on hand if you need anything but leave you in total privacy. The apartment is just as you see in the photos; it is spotlessly clean, everything you need is provided and there are lots of thoughtful touches including the very generous welcome pack. The large terrace is wonderful; the ideal outdoor living area with the most stunning views in all directions. Full sun from about 9.30 until sunset but plenty of shade when you need it. We spent the week exploring Frigiliana and the beautiful surrounding countryside, it is the ideal base if you enjoy walking. It was a privilege to spend a week in the heart of this very special town. On arrival we were met by Javier and Rosario, two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet, they showed us around the apartment and its facilities then kindly left, allowing us enjoy and explore in private. There was a very generous welcome pack and a beautiful bouquet of flowers with bottle of cava as a gift in recognition of our anniversary, a really nice touch. The apartment was spotless, generous in size and the outside terrace area is the icing on the cake, absolutely stunning! The views are amazing, a very private and tranquil spot in which to enjoy the sun and relax at your leisure. Frigiliana village itself was was wonderful, pretty streets and alleyways with a wonderful scattering of shops and restaurants. A truly wonderful holiday in a superb property and wonderful village, we will definitely be going back. We were looking for somewhere in Frigiliana to relax and enjoy the village and see friends and family who live near by. The apartment was better than we could have hoped for. So much inside space and excellent air conditioning (it got very hot outside) but the defining feature of this place is the roof terrace. No pictures will do it justice and I could have looked at that view for days! The plunge pool was a welcome relief from the heat and was always immaculate as was the rest of the apartment. Add in easy walking distance to restaurants in Frigiliana, a comfortable bed, beautiful welcome pack, wonderful hosts we I couldn't have been happier. I will be booking for our future trips! Left on Aug 24, 2015 for a stay in Aug 2015 We have visited Frigiliana, a picture perfect village, several times over the years and are so pleased we decided to become temporary residents! We were overwhelmed by Rosario and Javier's warm welcome and thoughtful provisions - we were able to immediately relax on the terrace with lunch and a chilled beer. The location is perfect, we loved being 'above it all' and able to float in the pool looking up at trees during the day and the stars at night. The kitchen is well equipped but we didn't need to cook as there are so many good places to eat in easy walking distance. The property more than lives up to the photos, excellent inside and out with stunning views. Thanks again to Rosario and Javier for thinking of everything! The property was everything we could have wanted and the outside area with the pool exceptional. Rosario and Javier were always helpful and a much appreciated selection of food and wine awaited us on our arrival. The drive from Malaga to Frigiliana could not be easier, pretty much motorway all the way and parking at this time of year didn't seem to be a problem. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, all reasonably priced. Nerja can be accessed by bus should you choose to and has the feel of a larger town with some good beaches. Ultimately this is a very nice property run by delightful people in a very pleasant area. Door zijn perfecte ligging aan de rand van het oude centrum van Frigiliana is het hier altijd weer heerlijk thuiskomen na een daguitstap. Barretjes en restaurantjes binnen handbereik in dit mooie dorp. Het huisje is perfect in orde en wordt duidelijk met liefde onderhouden door zijn charmante eigenaars, Rosario en Javier. De ontvangst is hartelijk en Rosario en Javier staan altijd paraat om te helpen als dat nodig zou zijn. Wij vonden het hier zo goed dat we in september alvast een andere woning van Rosario en Javier geboekt hebben, ook in Frigiliana. Karen H Lovely apartment in a beautiful village Left on May 1, 2016 for a stay in Apr 2016 Argos de la Almona is a lovely apartment located in the quieter part of Frigilliana. It has everything you need for a relaxing stay including a beautiful roof top garden complete with plunge pool. We loved sitting there in the evening watching the stunning sunsets over the nearby mountains. Rosario had kindly sorted a welcome pack for us which was most thoughtful. If you are hiring a car we recommend using the parking spot provided with the apartment (at extra charge) as parking is at a premium in the village. There are plenty of restaurants and mini-supermarkets within walking distance. We are looking forward to returning again soon. It is a cosy well equipped and homely apartment with so many added extras and so much thought given to guests and their needs for a week away. We have got to know Javier and Rosario over the past ten years having also stayed in Hazilla De Raya with our sons ( amazing ) and El Torin ( equally as amazing ) both with fantastic amenities, pools and views. Javier and Rosario are helpful without being intrusive and will do everything to make your stay in Frigillana a special one. Arcos has a lovely outside space, a welcome plunge pool, built in barbie and comfy sun loungers, all perfect for a relaxing holiday. We are hoping to stay in Dachita another of the villas owned by Javier and Rosario in the next year or two and know that will will receive a warm welcome. Would recommend Arcos, great for a couple wanting a self catering apartment within walking distance to some very good bars and restaurants in beautiful surroundings. mandylogan29 Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Amazing Place Left on Jul 8, 2016 for a stay in Jun 2016 We have just returned from our holiday at Arcos de la Almona in Frigiliana owned by Javier and Rosario and what an amazing place it was. Arcos de la Almona more than lived up to our expectations the accommodation was lovely and clean and traditionally Spanish. It was spacious light and airy plus it was well equipped for two people self catering. The roof terrace was absolutely fantastic and I doubt any photo will capture what an amazing and beautiful view it really is. Again amazingly clean with an eye for detail, lovely plants, seating area in the shade and a table for two in at which you can enjoy alfresco dining whilst admiring the view. The old quarter of Frigiliana is a five minute walk from the property. Beautiful cobbled lanes all decorated will colorful pots and plants and an array of interesting small shops and eateries. We had a meal in the church square at the larger of the two street restaurants and the food was amazing and plentiful. I can highly recommend Arcos de la Almona and your hosts Javier and Rosario they are truly lovely people and will make you feel very welcome. Thank you Javier and Rosario for a lovely holiday. Inside it is clean, comfortable and homely and is very traditional Spanish in style. Outside is absolutely stunning - the views are amazing and the terrace is huge with everything you could wish for - plunge pool, sunbeds, dining table and chairs, a shaded seating area and a barbeque. Owners Javier and Rosario and their son Nicholas are friendly and very helpful and go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect, they are really lovely people. FFRacer Excellent Village Apartment Left on Sep 6, 2016 for a stay in Aug 2016 We stayed at the apartment for two weeks over the recent 3-cultures festival. The apartment is in a great location, very central, but not at all noisy - indeed unlike many parts of the village it is very quiet at night. The roof terrace is very large for a village apartment, with two tables, a shaded area and sunbeds. The terrace is attractively planted and entirely private and the (large) plunge pool is almost unique for the village - and very welcome as it can be very hot. The terrace offers great views over the northern part of the village and the hills beyond. Inside the apartment is cosy, decorated in a traditional and comfortable manner and is well equipped - we cooked either lunch or dinner most days. However, there are dozens of restaurants within a few minutes walk. There are plenty of windows to allow a breeze - but aircon is a back-up if required - which we rarely needed. The immediate surroundings are picturesque, with the building clustered with some of the village's prettier houses. Access is via a short but steepish cobbled path, but unlike many village streets, you can drive almost to the property to unload. We rented the garage parking that is available (a minute's walk away) and found it very useful as the village can be busy and the on-street parking is unpredictable, especially when events are on. As others have said, the owners and their family are genuinely friendly and extremely helpful if required, but otherwise are not intrusive. In addition, Snoopy the cat patrols the lane outside keeping other village cats away ! The arrival pack is generous. There are now so many small supermarkets within the village that you don't have to walk more than a few minutes to get most provisions. We have been visiting Frigiliana for over 10 years and have stayed in almost every type of property available. This apartment, with the large terrace and pool is one of the best, is great for couples who like to enjoy the sun and we would very strongly recommend. I agree with all the other reviewers - Rosario and Javier are so warm and welcoming and considering that they live downstairs, they were never intrusive; just there when needed. The apartment is comfortable and the terrace is just lovely, filled with scented potted plants and you could just sit and stare at the view for days. It is spotlessly clean and tidy, and the welcome pack is more than generous. We have already booked for next year, it was that perfect. Beautiful accommodation, facilities, plunge pool and large terrace...can't fault it!! Left on May 9, 2017 for a stay in Apr 2017 My second experience of Arcos de la Almona, previously in 2005 and the place is as beautiful as ever. Extremely well equipped...all facilities we could require. As it was early in the year we found the evenings rather chilly however Javier and his son, Nicholas, scoured the village for logs and we had an amazing log fire (2 or 3 evenings) which kept us snuggly!! Daytimes were tremendous out on the well equipped terrace along with occasional dips in the plunge pool..yes it was actually warm enough to do that despite cool evenings! And of course, Frigiliana itself, we couldn't wish for more bars, restaurants and cafe's. Ate out every evening, some breakfast times..just glorious! Left on Aug 10, 2017 for a stay in Jul 2017 1 people found this review helpful We spent two super weeks at this well-appointed and charming town house in the heart of the historic quarter of Frigiliana. When we arrived Javier, the owner, welcomed us and what a warm and friendly welcome it was. The welcome pack that Javier and Rosario provided was extremely generous. The house is of a very high standard - this is not your typical rental property, you can see the owners have spent a lot of time and money making it very functional and beautiful. The house was spotlessly clean and in very good condition. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. We had been concerned about finding supermarkets/shops in Frigiliana but there are many. Javier pointed out one at the bottom of the road, which turned out to have all we needed – including very good gin and quality tonic - and was open on Sunday. The terrace area provides wonderful views and is a lovely place to eat and chill out, with shaded and sunny areas. It is much larger than it appears in the photos – we loved it. My wife and I loved reading our books at night-time with the most mesmerising starry sky above us. The sunsets were stunning. The small pool was welcome on hot days when we didn't venture out. We found that we spent more time in Frigiliana and the lovely house that we had intended, as we were so comfortable there. The villa is very quiet during the evenings and cool during the night, although the weather was very hot. We didn't use the air conditioning, as it can’t be used after midnight. There are plenty of good places to eat in Frigiliana. La Taberna del Sacristan is a must – don't miss the enormous and delicious prawn cocktail! We also dined at Restaurant 34 at the Hotel Carabeo in Nerja, which was super. We didn't bother with a car and were pleased we didn't. Javier organised a taxi from Malaga and Paulino from Frigiliana Taxis provided an A1 service. The busses from Frigiliana to Nerja were great - only 1 euro - and we also travelled by bus to Malaga and Salobrena with no problems. Javier did an amazing job in getting us beds on Burriana beach in a prime location. It took 22 phone calls. Javier you are a star! We have no hesitation in recommending this lovely house. As the town was going to be busy with limited parking the owner, Javier very kindly offered to pick us up from the airport. The apartment is named after the row of arched windows that throw light into the american style lounge, kitchen,dinner area which were well presented and very clean. WiFi and satellite TV with British channels were provided. The bedroom has a very comfortable double bed with ample drawer and hanging space. The bathroom with shower cubicle is beautifully tiled and has a light funnel to provide illumination. The 'wow' is when you walk out onto the terrace which has lovely views to the mountains, a plunge pool which is wonderful on a hot afternoon and ample sunbathing space with two comfy loungers supplied. There is also a covered porch with table and chairs to escape from the heat of the sun. The terrace is decked with beautiful plants which Rosario has a passion for. At the quieter end of the village, you have all the bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk, but enjoy the silence when you return home at the end of an evening. And don't forget the welcome pack of wine, beer, milk, water and enough cheese and meats to get you by for your first couple of days.There are plenty stores in the village to replenish your stocks, but we did not need to. Rosario and Javier are lovely hosts who want to ensure that you enjoy your stay with them and they are very proud of their village. We stayed here the first week in September. We were met by Javier the owner who was delightful and friendly, he showed us around and we were also given a welcome pack (we have stayed in many villas and have never had this before it was very thoughtful thank you). The house had enough space for our needs with all the amenities you could hope for. But the STAR was the outside terrace it was a great space with plenty of options for relaxing in or out of the sun along with a plunge pool. the views were breath taking it would be hard to find a more striking view. We were very close to some great restaurants The Garden and El Adarve which we visited twice each and again had wonderful views along with delicious food. I would also recommend Marisqueria El Sacristan which was at the bottom of the town. This Villa is ideal for a couple and you did not need a car but do need to be fit for the hills. We really enjoyed our stay and would thoroughly recommend this villa and hope to return in the near future. Thank you for a memorable week. Mr Ian M Amazing - Javier and Rosario were exceptional hosts Left on Dec 29, 2017 for a stay in Dec 2017 We had an amazing week in December 2017 for Christmas. On arrival we were greeted by Javier and Rosario. They both catered for our every need, a food and household necessity pack was provided on arrival, even to the extent of some lovely firewood for the wood burning stove in case we felt the chill. Frigiliana is a beautiful place to stay, they are plenty of good restaurants and the views are out of this world. Javier and Rosario are wonderful people and nothing was too much trouble, they provided a fantastically furnished, clean and beautiful accommodation, the roof-top terrace is amazing, even in December, I would think in the summer months it would be an amazing place to relax and catch the sun, especially with the sparkling plunge pool that is provided. There is a local supermarket and bar/restaurant (Fernandos) within 2-3 minutes walking distance from the villa which were both excellent and very convenient. I took the opportunity to pay for the car parking which was on offer (through the owners, Javier and Rosario) and we are so glad we did, parking spaces are a real premium in Frigiliana. The car parking was very near to the accommodation, and very secure, by opting for this car parking arrangement, the journey from car to accommodation was conveniently short, which,those who have visited Frigiliana, will understand how steep the gradients can be. We were welcomed with a lovely warm fire in the log burner and extremely generous welcome pack which kept us going for days. The weather was unusually bad and the log burner made the house so warm and cosy and was a great bonus. This house is very popular and it is no surprise that it gets booked up quickly. Javier and Rosario are amazing hosts and even invited us into their home for coffee on the morning we were leaving where they let us to store our luggage. Besonders gern haben wir uns auf der Terasse aufgehalten mit dem traumhaften Blick auf die Berge und die Gassen von Frigiliana. Es gibt viele kleine Läden um die Ecke, wo man sich versorgen kann. Die Ferienwohnung ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Ausflüge.Eine Wanderkarte gibt es bei der Touristinformation auf Englisch. Die schönste Wanderung war zum El Fuerte. Weiterhin empfehlen wir eine Tour zum abgelegene Dorf El Acebuchal. Da kann man sehr lecker und traditionell essen. Die Flusswanderung duch den Rio Chillar ist auch toll. The roof garden is amazing, with stunning views where you can relax in seclusion. Only a short walk to a bustling village centre with a good selection of shops. There are a number of very good places to eat nearby where the cuisine is varied and of high standard. Thoroughly recommend this location to anyone. Newshound24 Perfect Frigiliana accomodation Left on Jul 12, 2018 for a stay in Jul 2018 Arcos de la Almona is the perfect place to stay if you want to be in the heart of the beautiful village of Frigiliana. Javier and Rosario have created a lovely space which offers everything you would need for a very comfortable stay. The kitchen / dining / lounge space works really well, providing a cool and comfortable room which is spacious and very well equipped in all of its areas. The bedroom and bathroom are excellent too. The 'jewel in the crown' of the accommodation is undoubtedly the terrace. It has a delightful plunge pool, perfect for cooling down on hot days, as well as areas to lay in the sun or out, to sit quietly in the shade, or to eat at a table looking out over wonderful views. All of the accommodation is finished to a very high standard and is a pleasure to stay in. The location is ideal for walking down the steps - or up if you are feeling energetic - into Frigiliana, to enjoy its narrow cobbled streets, traditional white washed houses and numerous bars and restaurants. Javier and Rosario were the perfect hosts. From the outset their communications were clear and helpful and they were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. We didn't have need for anything, but knew that they would be there should any help be needed. We couldn't recommend this holiday rental highly enough and will definitely look to stay there again. It is located in the village in walking distance of plenty of restaurants. As the apartment is located on steep steps, parking is not available outside but we paid extra for the parking space in a nearby garage which was excellent and would recommend at busy times of the year. norrieArdrossan Ayrshire Charming house in beautiful Frigiliana Left on Oct 17, 2018 for a stay in Oct 2018 Arcos de la Almona is in a great location in the historical part of Frigiliana, with the beautiful narrow cobbled and tiled streets and lanes with steps or paths leading to various bars, restaurants, shops with great views over the surrounding country side, the mountains and down to the coast. Rosario and Javier are nice friendly hosts and we met Claudia their daughter too, who gave us our keys and showed my wife and I around on our arrival. The charming town house accommodation on the upper level of the building is mainly open plan with everything you need and the outside roof terrace including plunge pool was marvellous for enjoying the sunshine (yeah in October). A very good welcome pack was provided including bread, meats, eggs, water, fruit juice, wine, beer and all the basics you need to start of your holiday. We liked eating out and enjoyed the Garden Restaurant, Gusto, Taberna del Sacristan and our local (50 metres down the road) Bar Fandango. My wife and I hope to return again next year. Sarah C Fantastic Couples Retreat Left on Oct 30, 2018 for a stay in Oct 2018 Absolutely fantastic property for two people to thoroughly enjoy time in Frigiliana. The house is very spacious and also conveniently located if you are ok with a few steps (if not then perhaps Frigiliana in general would be a struggle for you). The roof terrace for the house is also very spatious and provides plenty of room to soak up the sun or retreat into the shade under the new covered Pergola and the views are magnificent. Javier and Rosario are the perfect hosts, on hand to assist with anything you may need but also discrete enough to allow for your own space. The welcome pack is very generous and was particularly useful as we arrived in an afternoon of rain. First time in the village without our boys and what a perfect place to stay - cheers. PERFECTION Left on Apr 22, 2019 for a stay in Jan 2019 Having previously stayed in Arcos my wife and I decided to see out the cold Scottish winter by spending 3 months in Frigiliana. Living in the village was a great experience and the property is ideally located for shopping, eating, walking or just lazing in the winter sun on the spacious terrace enjoying the fantastic vista. I even ventured into the plunge pool on a particularly hot day. The apartment is spacious with all the amenities you will require and excellent WiFi. In the cool evenings the log burner is a treat with plenty of wood sourced by the owners. Regular linen changes were supplied and Rosario and Javier make excellent neighbours and are on hand to help with any emergency or offer advice and assistance if required. The also respect your privacy. Over all we enjoyed a 5 star experience, in a 5 star property with 5 star hosts. OUR RESPONSE: Dear guest friends: Thank you very much for your lovely review. The house is beautiful with everything you could possibly need. It is spotlessly clean with quality furnishings and decor. The kitchen has all the appliances you need aswel as a great variety of utensils. Javier and Rosario leave a fabulous welcome pack which is second to none. Linen and towels, including pool towels are changed weekly. The terrace is fantastic with a plunge pool, bbq,lovely comfy furniture and a brand new pagoda to shade you from the heat of the day. The views are amazing looking over the rooftops and across the valley in front and the gorgeous hills to the rear. Pretty potted plants and flowers decorate the gorgeous terrace. The attention to detail Javier and Rosario give to this house shows how much they care and are always happy to help out with anything you want. The best hosts a holiday maker could have. Arcos is in an ideal position within walking distance to all the fantastic restaurants and bars in the beautiful picturesque whitewashed village. Whilst ever we are able to climb the gorgeous cobbled hills and steps we will continue to visit Arcos. A truly brilliant house. Compleet ingericht en voorzien van een groot dakterras met prachtig uitzicht. Afmeting van het zwembad op het dakterras is niet al te groot maar voldoende om heerlijk af te koelen. CasaBrido Mid Calder, United Kingdom IN THE HEART OF A REAL SPANISH VILLAGE Left on Oct 30, 2019 for a stay in Jan 2019 My wife and I decided to escape the cold winter in Scotland so booked Arcos for 3 months, January, February and March. The immaculate 1 bedroom flat sits above the owners house in the heart of the village. Do not be put off as Rosario and Javier are not intrusive but are on hand if you need them for any information or help. Arcos is open plan with a well equipped kitchen, dining for 4 people and a lounge area with first class satellite TV and excellent WiFi. After a days walking or soaking up the sun on the terrace we would retreat into the apartment which was really cozy in the cool nights due to the fantastic log burner which adequately heated the whole property. The bonus is the extensive, private terrace with sun loungers and shaded seating area along with a plunge pool ( yes even in the winter). Rosario also has the terrace decorated with lovely plants. We really enjoyed the experience of living in the village with, shops, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. A truly wonderful experience that we would like to repeat. NJP2317 Dalbeattie, United Kingdom Perfect, pretty, private village apartment Left on Nov 4, 2019 for a stay in Aug 2019 A very pretty apartment in an excellent location in the beautiful white village of Frigiliana. The one bed apartment is spacious, decorated in a traditional style (I love all the tiles!)and with many homely touches. We visited for two weeks in August to experience the fabulous Tres Culturas festival and it was hot for us, but the apartment has air conditioning and a wonderful large roof terrace with a plunge pool and a pretty shady nook, so wonderful!! The views from the terrace are lovely , plants in pots add colour and perfume, a table and chairs for meals, two comfortable sunbeds and a sofa and two comfy chairs with coffee table set under the shady gazebo. There is a barbeque on the terrace, but as we were within walking distance of all the cafes and restaurants, we didn't bother! The entrance doorway to Arcos de la Almona is one of the prettiest and most photographed in the village! Plus you are in very safe, knowledgeable, friendly hands with your wonderful hosts Rosario and Javier. This was our first stay in the village, but we have stayed in Dachita, and La Reserva for longer stays for the last 11 years. That should tell you all you need to know!! “Javier & Rosario’s appartment is a pure gem. I had a lovely time during my stay. The views are never to be bored by, the terrace great for sun bathing and the tiny pool perfect for a refreshing plunge. Rosario and Javier were always available and very attentive (providing some delicious avocado’s from their land and many other snacks and utilities). Frigiliana is the perfect getaway: the village is beautiful and offers many great hikes into the mountains and alongside the river. We visited Frigiliana apparently at a perfect moment, before high season when the town is still relatively quiet. Javier's apartment is at the high-end of the price range for Frigiliana, but it's all worth it. "This property is fantastic, clean, cosy and with a beautiful patio space (we ate at home a few nights just to take advantage of it). Our host Javier was wonderful and couldn't have been nicer to us - helping us with our transport and also making sure the fridge was stocked with some essentials for us after our long trip. The property is very central and near lots of restaurants, bars and shops (although a word of warning - like most of Frigiliana, you do need to walk up some slopes to access it, so maybe not the best location for those unsteady on their feet). There's also an additional charge for air con usage (which was no issue for us but just for info). Many thanks for Javier for hosting us we will definitely be back!" Perfeito para uma férias relaxantes. Frigiliana é uma pequena vila encantadora. Estava tudo muito limpo. A casa dispõe de tudo o que é necessário para umas mini férias. O terraço com barbecue, uma pequena piscina e uma vista deslumbrante para a serra é o ponto chave desta aconchegante casa. Vários restaurantes, mini mercados a uma curta distância a pé. Chegava se à praia a uma curta distância de 10km de carro (Nerja). Os anfitriões foram sempre muito amáveis e solícitos. Com certeza voltaremos! " "Perfecto para unas vacaciones relajantes. Jasmine Our stay was absolutely outstanding. Not only was Javier an amazing host, but he was so helpful and kind too. He gave us so many tips and recommendations throughout our trip and is always available if you need to call him for anything at all. The villa itself was pristine and just beautiful. It is very private and perfect for couples wanting to get away. It is in an amazing location a short walk into the main square and a very short distance to restaurants bars and little shops. Our stay was perfect and we will be returning in the future for sure. Once again they were amazing hosts, they had everything in pristine condition and never disturbed and only contacted us if necessary or to give us recommendations. We have just returned from a month of absolute tranquility. The home has everything you could possibly need for a wonderful stay. Your host and hostess are always there for any help you may need but are never intrusive. A special mention of the terrace, from breakfast, to the plunge pool for a quick cooling off dip, to the area for that afternoon read or nap was excellent. We have just finished a week at Javier and Rosario villa, and we are so sad to leave. The villa is beautiful and has everything you could need! The plunge pool outside is perfect for a cool down after sunbathing and we enjoyed the little bbq in the evening. The location is idyllic with beautiful views from the garden. We will definitely be back and can't recommend this villa enough to everyone! Rosario and Javier are perfect hosts. Josie

First time staying in Frigliana and I couldn’t have selected better accommodations. Javier and Rosario were excellent hosts and organised entry for us and kept in contact to ensure we arrived safely . Invitation pack left was appreciated and the accommodations was spotless and extremely well equipped. The roof terrace is the star of the show with tremendous views and plenty of areas to sunbathe or sit in the shade and just relax . Lots of restaurants and a few small bars in close proximity. It’s only a 12 minute walk to the bus terminal to Nerja . Journey takes 15 minutes and the buses are regular Frigiliana is a cobbled town and has lots of stairs .

The accomodation is ideal, spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly need for your stay. A fantastic welcome pack and bottle of wine was a very nice touch and much appreciated. The balcony and plunge pool are brilliant, private, roomy and with great views. The location is great with easy accesss into the village. The nearest minimarket is within 50m. The hosts are very attentive. Overall thouroughly recommended - we will be back!!!

A experiência no geral bastante acima das 5 estrelas. Perfeita para um casal. Casa muito limpa! Dispõe de tudo que é necessário para uma estadia sem preocupações. O terraço privado é o ponto chave onde dispõe de uma pequena piscina, barbecue e zona de refeição, com uma fantástica vista rural. Vários restaurantes e mini mercados a uma curta distância a pé. Superou bastante as nossas expectativas e tivemos umas relaxantes mini férias. Os anfitriões são pessoas extremamente amáveis, experientes e estão disponíveis sempre para qualquer eventualidade. Second time we have been here. Simply the best. Triple A location, great views, great apartment with everything you need, great location, great environment. Many good hiking possibilities around and beautiful beaches nearby. At this time of the year the village is pretty quiet, which we like a lot, but enough shops and restaurants are open. It was an amazing stay in an incredibly beautiful hillside town. We loved the roof garden/terrace with its views, plants and pool. The quaint cobblestone streets were delightful to stroll around and there were many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Our favourite was El Mirador at the very top of Frigiliana with good food and breathtaking views. Javier was very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend.
