Sylvia d Fantastisch! Left on Oct 14, 2016 for a stay in Oct 2016 Wat een geweldig huis is dit!! Alles wat je nodig hebt is hier aanwezig. We werden heel gastvrij ontvangen door de eigenaar Javier. Er was al het een en ander aanwezig zodat je niet gelijk naar de supermarkt hoeft te rennen. Alles was verzorgd, schoon en er lag werkelijk geen blaadje op het terras. Zwembad was heel fijn, niet te klein gelukkig. Precies goed. Voldoende bedjes en stoelen om te genieten van de omgeving en het mooie weer. 10 minuutjes van het mooie stadje Nerja en vlakbij het uiterste charmante dorpje Frigiliana. Waar je overigens heerlijk kan eten op het dorpsplein in een typisch Spaans restaurantje. Bedankt voor deze tip Javier. We could not wish for a better holiday. The owners Rosario and Javier are the best hosts anyone could wish for and we consider them to be our very best friends and their house is our 'home in spain'. AKeating74 Dublin, Ireland Beautiful house and stunning grounds - superb property Left on Jun 1, 2012 for a stay in May 2012 I could not recommend this house enough. We stayed here from the 7th-18th of May and could not be more pleased with our choice. This is a stunning property- the house is lovely, with some nice pieces of art and all the modcons (including wifi, sat. t.v. with English, German, Spanish channels etc) but it is the grounds that will take your breath away. It has stunning views of the mountains and the sea, it has very well kept and beautiful gardens, a small fish pond, a great bbq area and table outside to eat and relax and drink wine and chat, and a lovely swmimming pool that looks out onto the mountain and sea. The owners ,Javier and Rosario, are very welcoming and warm couple who want to make sure that all there guests love the house as much as they do and they are (rightly) proud of their property and make sure that the house is in tip top shape for all the guests that go to stay there. On the practial side, you will need a car to get there and about. It is very quite around there with no shops or restaurants within walking distance. But it is only about 10 minutes drive to the centre of Nerja and 5 minutes to Frigliana. Friends of ours, who happend to be in Nerja at the same time as us, came up for a bbq from Nerja and it cost about €12 in a taxi. It is not suitable for people in wheelchairs (there are lots of steps) . We stayed here with a 3 1/2 year old and a 9 month baby and had to watch the 3 1/2 because of the steps and pool but he loved it there as much as we did and once you are careful with them it is absolutely fine. We stayed in Nerja 3 years ago (in San Juan de Capistrano) and really liked it but this is a different level all together. It is a little more expensive but it is worth it- as the old cliche goes 'you get what you pay for'. To be honest i was hestitant to write this review because selfishly the less people know about it the better the chance of being able to book again. However, the owners were so hospitable that i think that the more people who know about it and book it the better. They also have a number of other properties around Frigliana so if you can't book this one then maybe it might also be worth checking out their website www.friglianaholidays.co.uk (by the way i did not know the owners and only met them when we arrived at the house and was just impressed by them- so i have no vested interest in this review) We have been staying in villas in Spain, the Canaries and Portugal for the last 5 years or so and this is by far the best one we have stayed in. Highly recommended, believe me you won't be disappointed.

Immaculate and fully kitted out to a high standard. It is so beautiful just sitting out on the terrace with views of both the sea and mountains just chilling out. Fully recommended.

We have earlier visited another house from same family, Javier and Rosario. Both times we were very happy for our stay. Houses were very nicely equipped and cosy - garden and the area is very beautiful. There are good opportunities for walking/hiking nearby. The hosts have always been very friendly and helpful. We have rented other houses in south Europe - these are the best houses we have tried this far. We will for sure come back another time and rent house from Javier and Rosario again.

achillachill achillachill Fantastic as usual Left on Jun 5, 2013 for a stay in May 2013 This was our 3rd trip to Hazilla de Raya and our 6th Visit to Javier and Rosarios villas. As usual we were treated as friends rather than customers. The attention to detail was once again the making of the holiday. The villa is beautiful - but nothing is too much trouble from help with the car hire to the welcome pack (we arrived at midnight). All the ingredients are present for a wonderful relaxing holiday. We were accompanied by my wifes sister and her daughter who had never been to Hazilla before and they were bowled over by it - so much so they rarely left the vila during our stay. Virginie H Cholet, France Superbe ! Left on Aug 27, 2013 for a stay in Aug 2013 Superbe location entre Frigiliana et Nerja, entre mer et montagnes. Frigiliana est un village magnifique dans lequel on ne se lasse pas de se promener. La vie n'y est pas chère par rapport à la France, par exemple à Frigiliana on peut commander une bière avec tapas pour 1,50 euros. On ne se lasse pas non plus de la vue des différentes terrasses. La location est conforme à ce qui est décrit. Il y a tout le nécessaire pour passer de bonnes vacances. La maison est très propre et Javier est un hôte vraiment très agréable et serviable. Les courses sont faites pour le petit en cas à notre arrivée ainsi que pour le petit déjeuner. La piscine de grande taille et le jardin très bien entretenu sont un petit havre de paix, on y reste des heures et on a plus envie d'en repartir ! Hazilla de Raya est un endroit idéal pour visiter une partie de l'Andalousie, entre Grenade et Malaga, il y beaucoup de choses à voir. Merci encore Javier et à bientôt ! DooBuu Harderwijk Geweldig ruim huis waar je je meteen thuis voelt! Left on Aug 31, 2013 for a stay in Jul 2013 Ons verblijf van twee weken in dit mooie, goed verzorgde vakantiehuis was te kort! Volgende keer gaan we drie weken. We werden zeer hartelijk ontvangen door de eigenaresse, die prima engels spreekt. Er was gezorgd voor de eerste boodschappen, wat heel geweldig was. Als je 's avonds laat aankomt na een dag reizen, heb je wel zin in een glaasje wijn en dat was er dus! Heerlijk! Het zwembad is geweldig ruim en de tuin groot en prachtig! Er was (water)speelgoed aanwezig voor de kinderen, die zich de hele dag in het zwembad vermaakten. 's Avonds gingen we uit eten in Nerja of Frigiliana, beide op zo'n 10 minuten rijden met de auto. Een bijzonder knus barretje, waar je lekkere tapas kan eten, op 3 autominuten afstand, doorgaande weg richting Frigiliana. Vanuit de tuin heb je prachtige vergezichten op Frigiliana aan de ene kant en op Nerja en de zee aan de andere kant. Beste Rosario en Javier, wellicht tot een volgende keer!! Left on Dec 9, 2013 for a stay in Sep 2013 The owner of this property has a number of similar villas in the area and over the years my wife and I have stayed at almost each of them. Hazilla was new for us, primarily as we now have a two year old, and it offered a number of practicalities that would suit us better. However, nothing changes. The villa was perfect and the holiday superb. Hazilla itself is a beautiful villa with plenty of room. Its fashioned in a traditional Spanish style, yet with modern amenities - all of which work and are well maintained. Javier is always nearby, just a quick phone call, if ever there is a slightest issue anyhow. Its gardens are wonderful surrounding a brilliant large pool that commands stunning views down to the 'bay' of Nerja one way and the mountains the other. Any of this owner's villas could be recommended but this place just felt like a home from home. Except with a real Spain feel about it. Just for reference I should add some details, especially if you are travelling with a family: parking is on site and easy for unloading, packing up again. There is a steep hill, sloping down towards the villa, never a problem (even with four suitcases in the car) but if you don't have a small 4 x 4 or automatic, you will need good clutch control! There is supermarket shopping nearby and a lovely built-in brick BBQ (once our son was in bed, my wife and I had some lovely evenings looking out from the dining area). Its about 40 mins drive from Malaga airport, easy to find and Javier will always 'guide you in' in any case! The pool is great, very kid friendly as is the whole villa (although there are a few small steps - 3 or 4 at a time - inside and out). Oh, and when you arrive late at night, or any time for that matter, how brilliant that there should be a little welcome basket of beer, bread, jams, coffee etc - until you get to the supermarket the next morning. I really didn't want to write such a praising review on here, I wanted to keep the place our little secret. But its the least I owe Javier and his wife for making our last 4 holidays things to remember - this one especially!

Drti Couldn't ask for more Left on Jun 2, 2014 for a stay in May 2014 We stayed at Hazilla Raya for one month and it was absolutely enchanting. The villa is gorgeous and in a perfect location. Beautiful views of Nerja by the sea and Frigiliana in the hills. A quick five minute drive from both. A beautiful property, very quiet and although we had neighbours (whom we really couldn't see) it felt entirely private. The owners, Javier and Rosario, are lovely people and very responsive to any small needs. I would recommend this property without hesitation and hope that we get a chance to return. Left on Aug 14, 2014 for a stay in Aug 2014 The villa is set in amazing surroundings, mountains on one side and the beautiful Frigiliana on the other. We have 2 children under 10 years and it was perfect for them. The pool is large with lots of sunbathing space around it, and the kids spent all day jumping in it! There are plenty of small areas around the villa to waste time in with a glass of wine! The BBQ area is shaded and pleasant to dine in during the warm nights. We enjoyed our holiday and would highly recommend this villas to families. You do need a car to get about and the slope to the villa is very steep but this makes the villa even more private! The villa was extremely well equipped and has everything you might want or expect. The gardens are beautiful and the pool and balcony were excellent. The house was perfect for us as a family with 2 children. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en-suite). You do need a car to get to and from the house. This was very kindly arranged for us by the owners and saved us a lot of hassle at Malaga airport. Dealing with the owners, Javier and Rosario, was a pleasure and gave us great confidence that everything would be OK for our holiday. Overall I cannot fault our time in Hazilla, It is the first time in our lives we may consider going back to the same place for another summer holiday!! Five star rating is justly deserved. There is absolutely everything you need and they supply a great welcome pack. There are wonderful views to the front and rear of the property and the pool, set in beautiful gardens, is very welcome on hot days. I wouldn't say there is a great deal to see and do in the immediate area, but if you want a relaxing holiday, it's wonderful. We recommend a trip to the Nerja Caves, which are cool in every sense!

The bedrooms are larger than in other villas. Enough space is also available in the other rooms. In the Kitchen everything is available, dishwasher, micro, toaster, refrigerator, etc. A dream is the outdoor area. Nce large pool, view over Nerja and the Mediterran, nice lounge with sun umbrella, sunbathing, very nice Laid oud and cultivated garden. A smal problem in the shower was repaired as soon as possible. Dachita position provides easy access to the beautiful village of Frigiliana and the beaches of nearby Nerja and is well placed to enjoy walks in the nature reserve of Sierra Tejeda which is on the doorstep. Over the last 14 years we have stayed in all the properties of Rosario and Javier they are the perfect hosts, on hand if you need them invisible if you don't. Die Villa im wunderschönen Tal gelegen hat Klasse und tolle Aussicht. Der Pool lädt ein zum schwimmen, der Garten ist bezaubernd schön. Hier kann man herrlich relaxen. Der Besitzer Javier und seine Frau sind aufmerksam und sehr hilfsbereit. Auch mit Kids und Dog kann man hier gut Ferien machen. Das Dorf Frigiliana selber ein Höhepunkt der andalusischen (maurische Einflüsse) Architektur, Nerja und Meer sind in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Der Strand in Maro sehr zu empfehlen. We had a wonderful stay at Villa Frigliana. The house was perfectly clean, well equipped and excellent for a Family (2 adults, 2 children). The house is surrounded by a nice garden, the terrace offers a unique view towards Frigliana and the coast. We also enjoyed the well maintained pool and the Barbecue. Ian L Beautiful villa in a perfect situation. Left on Mar 20, 2018 for a stay in Sep 2017 We have holidayed in Hazilla de Raya for many years and have had a lovely relaxing break every time. The location is amazing, with gorgeous views of the sea and the mountains. The villa itself is comfortable and cosy in Winter and cool and airy in the summer. The kitchen is very well equipped for self catering and the outdoor space is lovely with two terraces with dining areas and the lovely pool area for lounging. We followed their advice, and we could not have made a better decision. Nested on the hills separating Nerja on the Mediterranean coast from the picture-perfect white village of Frigiliana, and with an unobstructed view on both, that beautiful, large, comfortable and well-appointed property offers peace and tranquility in gorgeous surroundings, with easy access to many of the historic inland cities of that culturally rich area of Spain. For the adventurous, natural parks are right next door, including the attractive Alpujarras (Sierra Nevada). Javier and Rosario are the perfect hosts and will go out of their way to help you. Easy to drive to and a 30 ish minute walk to Frigiliana, a 10 minute walk to the local pub which I would thoroughly recommend for an evening drink. Make sure you take a torch!! The only problem with this villa is that with such good reviews I will struggle to book it for future return visits! Javier was on hand to greet us when we arrived to make sure everything was OK. The welcome pack of food and drink in the fantastic equipped kitchen was a nice surprise and saved us the usual rush to the shops. The inside of the villa was immaculate and even stay reasonably cool without the A.C. The pool was bigger than average and had great sunbeds with cushions.The outside seating/ eating areas were great along with the bbq. Overall the attention to detail eg. pool towels , good quality crockery, kitchen cleaning essentials and the welcome pack made this villa better than most. ps When strolling around the gorgeous gardens remember to feed this fish Thanks again Javier and Rosario OUR RESPONSE: Dear family: Thank you for your review. Diese Finca ist ein Traum für jeden Naturliebhaber. Der große Garten ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail angelegt, es gibt rund um das Haus viele kleine Oasen, die nicht nur für das Auge fantastisch sind. Hier findet jeder ein ruhiges Plätzchen mit herrlichem Ausblick. Im Haus fehlt es an nichts, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist ebenso vorteilhaft, man ist mit dem Mietwagen in 5 Minuten in Nerja oder in Frigiliana. Dort findet man gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und nette Restaurants. Der Poolbereich ist wunderschön, gepflegt und sauber. Der Außenbereich, bestehend aus einem sehr schön angelegten Garten, Fischteich, „neu“ überdachten Terasse mit Esstisch, Top-Barbeque mit Waschbecken, lässt wirklich keine Wünsche offen. We in this beautiful villa for 3 months and arrived to a lovely welcome pack and roaring log fire. The property has everything that you would need and was perfect for our dog, Freddie. There are beautiful gardens and surrounding views of the hills and sea. The villa is well-equipped with all of the usual kitchen appliances, AC throughout and a great shower and bathroom - a real home from home! Javier and Rosario are perfect hosts and made us feel part of the family! We can't wait to return next year! Thank you again to Javier and Rosario and love to all of your family.

We have now stayed in 3 of Javier and Rosario's properties. Hazilla de Raya is definitely the jewel in the crown (each of the other properties being smaller jewels!). It is a large, family sized property with lots of traditional features - large wooden doors, fireplace etc. The garden is so beautiful and filled with lots of colourful plants. The pool is a great size and gives you lovely views over the surrounding mountains, Frigiliana and down the sea. The property is equipped to a very high standard. The beds are exceptionally comfortable. Combined with the tranquility of the location, it's a perfect "get away from it all" villa. It is well situated, within easy walking/public transport distance of Frigiliana and Nerja. Malaga and Granada are within easy driving distance. Javier and Rosario have been, as always, the perfect hosts. It's always lovely to see them. They make us feel so welcome and as if nothing is ever too much trouble. We are already looking forward to our next visit! :-)

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful 3 week stay in this beautiful traditional Spanish villa. The location is perfect sitting equidistant between Nerja and Frigiliana in the very quiet area of Cortijo San Rafael. Externally the villa sits in large beautifully maintained gardens with a barbecue and seating area under the shade of a pergola. The pool is bigger than normal suitable for a good swim and from the expansive terrace there are fantastic views up to the village and mountains as well as down to the sea and Nerja. There are additional seating areas and it is possible to walk right round the villa. Shaded car parking is provided under a very old algarrobo tree at the front of the house. Internally the villas is furnished to a high standard with air con available in all rooms. A specious lounge and formal dining area are connected to the modern well equipped modern kitchen by a further “breakfast room”. The master bedroom has a very large bed, en-suite shower and WC with large patio doors that open out onto a breakfast terrace. The second bedroom has twin beds with access to a seperate full bathroom with shower. Good quality WiFi is also provided with connection available throughout the property. On arrival we found a very large welcome pack including wine and beer which was great fully received as we did not need to rush out to the Supermarket. A weekly linen change was provide including bath and pool towels.The owners Rosario and Javier are just fantastic visiting to ensure everything was in order and go out their with with recommendations to enjoy your stay but are not intrusive in any way. We can not recommend this Villa highly enough suitable for a small family or 2 couples it is idyllic.
